Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, the largest nerve in your body, which branches from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg.
Sciatic nerve pain varies in intensity and frequency; minimal, moderate, severe and occasional, intermittent, frequent or constant.
Sciatic pain can be described as dull, achy, sharp, toothache-like, pins and needles or similar to electric shock-like shooting leg pain. Other sciatica symptoms may include burning, numbness and tingling sensations.
